China's security tightens as the Olympic Games start in Beijing

Arguably one of the most controversial Olympic Games ever begins in Beijing, reports.

There is tight security to ensure the opening ceremony goes without a hitch.

The Games may have cost $20bn and taken seven years to prepare, but the Chinese are hoping to showcase their organisational ability as well as their sporting prowess for the watching world.
