Forty years after his death, Padre Pio's body is exhumed, preserved and put on display.

It has been placed in a crystal sepulchre in the crypt of the monastery where he spent most of his life.

One of the Catholic Church's most popular saints, he is said to have had the stigmata on his hands and feet and many believed him to be a miracle-worker.
