Is the politics of the black working-class now a politics that dare not speak its name?

If you've watched TV or read newspapers over the last week, you've probably noticed the amount of cultural and political attention being paid to the white working-class - and rightly so, you could well say. But what of their black counterparts?

Despite the alienation sections of the white working-class undoubtedly feel, statistics show that the poorest parts of our community are still non-white. The only appearance black politics has made this week, however, has been a negative one - the resignation of Lee Jasper, race relations advisor to the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, over sleaze allegations.
