Seventeen leading journalists and civil liberties groups warn against "a serious threat to the future of investigative journalism". More4 News reports.

"This legal action poses a serious threat to the future of investigative journalism".

That's the warning from seventeen leading journalists and civil liberties groups, in a letter to The Times.

What's worrying them is the attempt by Greater Manchester police to seize notebooks from a journalist who's been working with a former Islamist extremist now under arrest.
