A friend of the men jailed for the failed London bombings, he has been convicted of organising terrorist training camps in the Lake District and the New Forest to prepare recruits for fighting abroad.
All five of the men involved in the attempted bombings in the capital on 21 July 2005 attended his camps.
Five of Hamid's followers are also due to be sentenced for attending them.
