Coming up on tonight's programme...

Good afternoon. Samira here. These are our main news reports so far today:

Man questioned over honeymoon murder ==================================== Developments in the investigation into the brutal shooting of a British honeymoon couple in Antigua. Police on the island say four people remain in custody over the murder of Catherine Mullany, who was shot dead on the last day of her honeymoon in her hotel room. Her seriously ill husband, Ben, is now being treated in the intensive care unit of a hospital near his home in Swansea, where Catherine did part of her training. He was brought back to Britain for treatment by air ambulance overnight. IOC pleased with drug disqualifications ======================================= Less than a week to the start of the Beijing Olympics and the International Olympic Committee is proud of the number of athletes disqualified for failing or evading dope test in the past few days, 17 so far. It says it's the result of a concerted drive to tackle drugs cheats before the Games. The IOC also confirmed today its decision to strip the United States men's 4x400 m relay team of their Gold from the 2000 Olympics in Sydney after one of the four admitted using performance-enhancing drugs. John Sparks reports and we'll be talking to the the former director of Ethics and Anti-Doping at UK Sport, Michele Verroken, who's now running her own consultancy business.

HIPS prove unpopular with sellers ================================= The dramatically-changed conditions in Britain's housing market are revealing new problems. Remember HIPS? Controversially introduced when the market was booming, the compulsory home information packs, paid for by the sellers (and costing about £400), are supposed to ensure fairer dealings between vendor and purchaser and fewer sales falling through. But the Law Society has said some estate agents are breaking the law by marketing properties without them; apparently because sellers are unwilling to pay for them with no guarantee of a sale at the end of the process.

Federer loses top spot ====================== In the sport, after a notable decline in form in recent weeks, Roger Federer has finally lost his 235-week reign at the top of the world rankings to Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Nadal defeated Nicolas Lapentti 7-6 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters. Even if he loses tonight's semi final against world number three Novak Djokovic he will still take the top spot on the 18th August. Should he win the tournament he will take over immediately as the number one player in the world - and he may be playing Britain's Andy Murray in the final. Isla Glaister reports. Collingwood leads fightback =========================== And England are fighting back on the 4th day of the 3rd test against South Africa at Edgbaston. Paul Collingwood stretched his second innings score to 135 to help England set the tourists 281 to win. England's bowlers have taken 4 wickets so far, with South Africa needing another 170 to win.
