Shannon 'kidnapped and drugged'

A court hears schoolgirl Shannon Matthews was drugged as part of a "dishonest and wicked" kidnap plot.

Shannon was drugged, imprisoned and probably tied up to prevent her escaping the prosecution claimed at the trial, so that the pair could claim a reward when they eventually freed her.

The schoolgirl was fed temazepam tablets and a strap hanging from the roof was likely to have been used to restrain her.
