Shannon review gets go-ahead

An independent review will be conducted into the way social services dealt with the family of Shannon Matthews.
Karen Matthews was yesterday convicted along with Michael Donovan of kidnapping the 9-year-old, who was held captive for 24 days as part of a plan to get reward money.
It has now been revealed that Shannon and her siblings were placed on the child protection register by Kirklees Council, but were later removed.
