Scot handed death-row reprieve

Kenny Richey was convicted nearly 15 years ago. Today he was told that the Ohio State prosecutor has 90 days to either free him from death row or give him a retrial.
It is the latest in a more than 20 year saga. Richey has always protested his innocence over the death of two-year-old Cynthia Collins, in a fire in 1986.
13 times a date has been set for the Scotsman's death - once his legs were even shaved ready for the electrodes.
Then in 2005, the US Supreme Court made the same decision as today - overturning his conviction and ordering a retrial or freedom.
But Ohio state appealed. It has taken two years to get back to this stage.
His former girlfriend and long-time campaigner is Karen Torley. Today she told Channel 4 News that Richey wanted not to be freed - he wanted a retrial so he could prove his innocence.
His supporters have always argued that his lawyer at the time of the original trial did not adequately represent him. Scientific evidence presented by the prosecutors has now been disputed.
