Saving kids from the gangs?

Anonymity and witness protection are to become the new tools of fighting gang violence in Britain.

A two-pronged attack on the growing gang culture in Britain's cities is being launched by the government.

In a speech in Birmingham this morning, the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith outlined plans to protect those coming forward to inform on gangs.

And ministers are also asking schools to look out for signs that pupils are being drawn into gang membership.
