Merseyside police arrest 12 people in connection with the shooting of Liverpool schoolboy Rhys Jones.
Merseyside police have arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, and two men, aged 24 and 25, on suspicion of the murder of schoolboy Rhys Jones.
Rhys, 11, was shot dead in the Croxteth area of Liverpool as he walked home from football practice on 22 August last year.
Police have also arrested a boy, aged 16, on suspicion of assisting an offender, attempting to pervert the course of justice, and possession of a firearm.
Seven other people, including three women, have been held in connection with the schoolboy's killing, in dawn raids across Liverpool today.
"All those arrested are from the Croxteth area and have all been taken to police stations on Merseyside, where they will be questioned by detectives," a police statement said.
No-one has so far been charged in connection with the murder, although police have made several arrests in the course of their investigations.
