Abu Qatada, the man known as Bin Laden's spiritual ambassador in Europe, is bailed tonight after six years in prison, Andy Davies reports.
Abu Qatada has been described as Osama bin Laden's "spiritual ambassador in Europe" and an inspiration to the 9/11 bombers.
After six years in prison Qatada is about to be released on bail, and he could be free this evening.
But the man that immigration authorities previously called "a truly dangerous individual" will be effectively under house arrest.
The government said it would appeal to the House of Lords to reverse the decision.
