Nine people have been arrested in connection with the murder in west London on Wednesday of Kodjo Yenga, 16.

Nine people aged between 13 and 21 are being held in police custody tonight in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Kodjo Yenga.

The teenager was with his girlfriend in west London on Wednesday when he was chased, caught, beaten then stabbed by a gang of youths who were heard by witnesses shouting "Kill him! Kill him!"

Kodjo Yenga was known to his school mates as Kizzle. They say he was not a gang member - rather, someone to be found making music. His friends carry the rap song he recorded on their iPod. And his words are on the wall.

He was stabbed in the heart in an affluent part of west london after being chased by gang. Witnesses described it as horrifying attack.

A man of 21 is one of those being held over the murder, the latest in a series of killings in London believed to be gang-related.

At Kodjo Yenga's school the loss is felt keenly. And his family's hopes for a promising student have now been replaced by a wall of grief.
