The Met's Cressida Dick condemned the start of the operation against Jean Charles de Menezes as "appalling".

The trial over the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes has been told that the Metropolitan Police's commander, Cressida Dick, described the first hour of the operation as "appalling".

She went on to say that there had been "no structure".

The jury at the Old Bailey heard that the comments of Assistant Police Commissioner Dick were recorded in a police log.
