When the worst happened - they were on the front line. Firefighters and police describe the shock and the horror as they dealt with the London bomb attacks.
It was a day of terror: of death, of explosions, and of ordinary people moved to extraordinary courage. When four suicide bombs ripped through London tube trains and a double decker bus last month no-one could comprehend what was happening.
Yet amid all the confusion it was up to the emergency services to cope. From firefighters to police officers and medical staff, it was a time when doing their job had never been more important: all this, in the most horrific conditions.
Now, in their own words - four members of the rescue service who were working on the seventh of July describe their experiences that day.
