Hunt for terror suspects
Updated on 24 May 2007
John Reid demands his critics stop playing party politics after three terror suspects under control orders absconded.
The men are described as "extremely dangerous". Three terrorist suspects - are on the run - after breaching their control orders. Lamine and Ibrahim Adam, both originally from Algeria, are the brothers of a man jailed for life for plotting attacks with a fertiliser bomb.
During that trial the court was shown CCTV images of the stored fertiliser - and heard how Lamine Adam was there when the group talked about importing the explosives. He was never tried.
Instead the men were placed under a form of house arrest and had to register daily with a monitoring company. But now the government is on the defensive.
Police - Appeal to trace three men
The Met's Counter Terrorism Command are appealing for assistance and information regarding the whereabouts of three men who are believed to have absconded from control orders imposed upon them

The government had imprisoned suspects without trial - until the Lords ruled that against Human Rights. Now police are expected to be given new powers to question suspects on a range of offences.
But the priority - is to find the missing three men. Despite intelligence on fertiliser bombs and fighting in Iraq, the three men were on relatively light touch - control orders. The government is now being asked - why?
