The mum of Scarlett Keeling fears Indian police have arrested the wrong man for the murder of her daughter and wants a new probe.

Samson D'Souza, a local barman, is due to be questioned further about Scarlett's death, whose body was found on a beach in Goa.

But Scarlett's mother, Fiona Mackowan, says she is worried the real culprit, responsible for the rape and murder of her 15-year-old daughter, remains free.

For the distraught mother of the murdered British teenager it was supposed to have a been a big breakthrough in the case - finally, the arrest of a suspect. But is it?

Just as the suspect, a barman, is appearing in court, Scarlett's mother today, in a letter to the chief minister of Goa called for more senior Indian police officers to investigate her murder.

It was only after Ms Mackowan demanded a second autopsy that police admitted that her daughter had not drowned but been murdered.

There were 50 bruises and abrasions on Scarlett's body and her campaigning mother insists that it's only with a full and open investigation, that there can be real justice for this crime.
