Death row Richey walks free
Updated on 07 January 2008
Kenny Richey, the Briton who has spent 21 years on death row in Ohio, has finally been released.
After a subdued appeal hearing in Ottawa, Richey walked free for the first time since his arrest in July 1986. He plans to fly back to Edinburgh tomorrow.
His lawyer said the appeal leaves Richey "completely exonerated" - but the aunt of the girl Richey was convicted of murdering did not agree.
