'Cynical plot' for £50,000

Karen Matthews, along with her co-accused Michael Donovan, is found guilty of kidnapping her own daughter.
Police have described her plan as a "cynical plot" to claim a £50,000 reward.
"I would like to report my daughter as missing," she reportedly said in a 999 call on the day her daughter Shannon disappeared.
For more than three weeks Matthews pretended Shannon had been abducted, issuing tearful appeals for her safe return and sparking one of the biggest investigations West Yorkshire Police had ever mounted.
