Convictions over Haringey death
Updated on 11 November 2008
The government announced a nationwide review of child protection services after the death of a child who was on the at-risk register.
Three people were convicted over the death of a 17-month-old boy in the London borough of Haringey.
Haringey council's child protection teams saw the boy's family 60 times in the eight months before his death.
In this time, he suffered more than 50 injuries, including fractured ribs and a broken back, but wasn't taken into care.
Haringey is the same authority where Victoria Climbie died eight years ago.
Her death led to changes in the law, but these failed to protect the boy.
