The canoeist who came back from the dead, John Darwin, is facing a long prison sentence after admitting a series of fraud charges.
The 57-year-old former prison officer pleaded guilty to seven charges of getting cash by deception, as well a passport offence.
His wife Anne, who denied 15 charges, will stand trial later this year.
Darwin vanished after taking his canoe into the sea near his home in Hartlepool six years ago. It has since been claimed that he was actually living next door to his wife for years after he'd been pronounced dead.
