Canoeist speaks to detectives

Detectives say John Darwin has given "some sort of explanation" about the years he has been missing.
Magistrates have granted detectives another 36 hours to question him on suspicion of fraud.
The officer in charge of the investigation said they would also like to question his wife but did not have the resources to track her down abroad.
She is rumoured to be in the United States with a tabloid journalist, but has said she plans to come back to Britain to face questioning.
