Canoeist arrested

Five years after he was given up for dead, John Darwin was arrested on suspicion of fraud today and transferred to the custody of Cleveland Police for questioning.
Launching an international appeal for information on where he's been since he went canoeing in 2002, police confirmed they had been making inquiries for the last three months and said "without doubt this is an unusual case".
Perhaps an understatement as Mr Darwin now claims he can't remember anything since two years before he disappeared. Yet a photo purporting to show Mr Darwin and his wife Ann in Panama last year has emerged.
