Calls for Shannon inquiry

The local MP leads calls for an independent enquiry into whether child protection failed Shannon Matthews, after she was dropped from the at-risk register.
Yesterday Karen Matthews was convicted of kidnapping her 9-year-old daughter Shannon, who was held captive for 24 days.
It's now emerged that some of Ms Matthews's children, including Shannon, had been placed on the child protection register but were later taken off.
