Abu Qatada, Osama Bin Laden's 'right-hand man in Europe', is granted bail by the Special Immigration Appeals Commission. Carl Dinnen reports.
He has been held in prison while the government tried to deport him to Jordan. But he will now be held under effective house arrest.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she was "extremely disappointed" by the decision, which is the latest setback in the government's attempts to control the movements of Islamic militants.
