More4 News reflects on whether this week's grim news may be evidence of a deterioration in the safety of Britain's youngsters.

This follows convictions in the case of Baby P and the arrest of a mother whose children were found stabbed to death.

The fact that these stories have come at the same time is a coincidence, but how safe are Britain's children? And are they sufficiently protected by law and by public bodies?
