Villagers near Folkestone fear their local post office could be shut in 2008 as part of the next wave of closures.

It is a network which the government described as "unsustainable". Yet campaigners claim it is crucial to everyday life across the country.

2,500 post offices are to close by the end of next year. The decision being made now is which ones will shut.

But amid growing protests about the impact of such a move, the consumer group Postwatch has voiced concerns about the number of branches earmarked for closure.

Channel 4 News visited the village of Capel-le-Ferne, near Folkestone, where the future of its post office looks bleak.
