More4 News reports on the cut-price cocaine by-product that is ravaging South America's slums.

The drug obtained from the coca plant comes in three main forms - the leaf, chewed by native South Americans for centuries; cocaine, the western middle-class drug of choice, and the more toxic and addictive drug, crack.

But there is an even more deadly by-product of the drug - Pasta de Cocaina, or Paco - that's now ravaging south America.

Since the government in Bolivia relaxed controls on cultivation of the coca leaf, Argentina says its number of paco addicts has trebled.

Ramita Navai has this special report from Buenos Aires.
