Mother denied daughter's kidney

A request for a directed deceased donation between Laura Ashworth and her mother went to the highest level, the Human Tissue Authority, but was turned down.
When Rachel Leake's daughter died following an asthma attack, the 21-year-old's kidney went to a patient on the transplant list, despite Rachel needing the organ herself.
