Three out of four firms fail to offer their workers any health benefits despite a strong demand from staff, according to a new report.

A survey of 3,000 employees found that nine out of 10 believed their firm should help them stay fit and healthy, believing it would boost their productivity.

Recruitment firm reed.co.uk said its poll also showed a demand for help to stop them smoking or take up yoga and relaxation classes.

Martin Warnes, operations director at reed.co.uk said: "Workers are looking increasingly to their employers to provide health benefits, seeing a direct link between their fitness and productivity at work."
