Charles's McDonalds ban

Updated on 27 February 2007

By Channel 4 News

Prince Charles has reportedly suggested McDonalds be "banned".

The Prince allegedly made the remarks at the launch of a public health awareness campaign in the United Arab Emirates.

Clarence House has denied the Prince said the fast food giant should be banned - but a reporter travelling with the royal party has insisted to this programme that he clearly overheard the Prince making the comments.

McDonalds say the remarks are "disappointing" and out of date.
