Britain 'one of best prepared'

World health officials are meeting in emergency session tonight as they decide whether to upgrade the alert level warning against the swine flu outbreak. Tom Clarke reports.

In Britain the government has insisted it is one of the best prepared countries in the world.

The number of suspected deaths in Mexico has risen to 149, with schools closed across the country as the Mexican health minister warned that the number of swine flu cases would increase.

Governments around the world have rushed to contain any possible impact, with Europe and the United States warning against any non-essential travel to Mexico.
