Fuel poverty campaigners attack the government over help available to those struggling to pay fuel bills.

The criticism came as the government announced a voluntary deal that would see the big six energy providers spend an extra £225 million over three years. It could help 100,000 families out of fuel poverty.

But campaigners are dismayed that energy companies will still be allowed to charge customers on pre-payment metres at a higher rate.
