First World War: Data secrets

Well, we may not be very good at keeping track of official data these days, but it was not always thus.
The complete medical records of 5.5m "British and Colonial" soldiers who fought in the First World War more than 90 years ago were released online for the first time today.
More4 News has been looking back through the archives and asking what we knew then about record-keeping that we don't seem to know now.
