Storms hamper search and rescue efforts in central China as the death toll continues to rise after the country's worst earthquake for decades.

Nearly twelve thousand people were killed, but state media says that figure is likely to increase further.

Rescue workers have now reached the epicentre of yesterday's quake in Sichuan province, Wenchuan had previously been cut off.

In the nearby town of Mianzhu it's thought ten thousand people could still be buried under the rubble.
