Flood crisis 'not over yet'

As the water sweeps downstream the environment secretary warns this emergency is not over.

Huge areas of central and southern England are still under water - after several major rivers burst their banks. The army's bringing supplies of food and water to towns that remain completely cut off.

In Gloucester - the River Severn has swollen to just a few inches below the city's flood defences: emergency workers are frantically trying to shore up its banks.

And in nearby Tewkesbury - mains water supplies have been cut off to tens of thousands of people - after a treatment plant became submerged.
