Flash floods strike across northern England and the Midlands, with the north east bearing the brunt of the heavy rainfall.

The focus is on the Northumberland town of Morpeth tonight.

Much of the town has already been flooded and residents in other parts of Morpeth are worried the flood defences will not hold.

The flood waters have receded in Wales, where a 17-year-old girl died last night. Her four-wheel drive car overturned while it was being driven across a river in Powys.

Tonight there are 107 flash flood warnings across the country, six of them are severe.
