Climate targets may increase

Britain should increase its climate targets to an 80 per cent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, according to the government's new advisory committee on climate change.

They called for a more stringent target than the 60 per cent cut currently in the climate change bill, saying that new information suggested the dangers of global warming were greater than previously thought.
