China's flood risk prompts evacuation
Updated on 30 May 2008
After the earthquake, there is the risk of flooding and almost 200,000 people are evacuated from villages in China's Sichuan province.
Sichuan's villages are threatened by a swelling lake in danger of bursting its banks.
However officials denied reports that 1.3 million people were about to be moved to higher ground, insisting it was just a "training exercise".
Hundreds of troops have been rushed to the landslide blocked river at Tangjiashan, where they're racing to dig a channel to relieve pressure from the rising waters and protect the city of Mian Yang.
