Bush admits climate change

By Julian Rush

Updated on 27 September 2007

Launching a conference of the world's major carbon-emitting and developing countries in Washington, the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said it was aimed at supporting the UN's efforts on global warming.

But critics - including protesters outside the meeting - are questioning the extent of America's green intentions.

While a recent climate report warned that emissions must be cut even further, politicians don't seem to be ready to spread that message.
