30 new rubbish incinerator plants planned for the UK

Channel 4 News has found that at least 30 new incinerators are planned nationwide
Councils across Britain are under pressure to deal with growing mountains of waste, to avoid fines, without damaging the environment by piling it up on landfill sites.
However, while the new incinerators are an improvement on the old-style plants, much cleaner and generate electricity into the bargain, could they end up undermining Britain's ambitious recycling targets?
Based on information from local campaign groups and the environment agency, Channel 4 News understands that the following locations at least are being seriously considered or planned by councils.
Where the 30 incinerators will go:
1. Capel (near Dorking), Surrey
2. Newhaven, East Sussex
3. Near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire
4. Peterborough
5. Sterwartby, Bedfordshire
6. Rainworth, Nottinghamshire
7. Exeter, Plymouth
8. St Dennis, Cornwall
9. Coventry (new bigger incinerator proposed to replace existing one)
10. Shrewsbury, Shropshire
11. Cardiff
12. Belvedere, Bexley, South East London
13. Derby
14. Lincoln
15. Virginia Water, Surrey
16. Plymouth
17. Barnsley
18. York
19. Cardiff
20. Darlington
21. Bristol
22. Telford
23. Dumfries, Scotland
24. Dunbar, Scotland
25. Perth, Scotland
26. Runcorn, Cheshire
