Westside story

Channel 4 News spent the year following Westside School in London, where teachers are trying to offer students a second chance.

A report published today claims that the new, independently run academies, the government's flagship education scheme, are excluding pupils seen as violent or disruptive and forcing them on neighbouring schools.

However, not all youngsters at risk of exclusion are being written-off by the system, as Westside has shown.
