Crystal meth lacks the media and political profile of crack cocaine, reports More4 News but its growing impact is cutting a swathe through the US.
It is one of the most dangerous drugs known to man and can be made from legal and easily obtainable ingredients.
The poor white populations of the southern states, worst affected by Crystal meth, are key battlegrounds in the presidential election, but to these communities politics seems a long way away.
