Thumbs-up for internet DVD rentals
Updated on 04 May 2007
Online DVD rental has received the "thumbs-up" from a majority of people trialling the service for a consumer test.
Consumer magazine Which? found more than eight out of 10 of those taking part said they would use either the same or a similar service again.
The trial entailed 63 people signing up to eight internet DVD rental sites between them and keeping a diary for five weeks.
The sites allow subscribers to create a "wish list" of DVDs.
Customers then wait for the DVDs to arrive through the door.
Subscribers can keep each DVD for as long as they want with no late fees.
Films are returned in pre-paid envelopes.
