Lights in the sky, crashing noises in the early hours, and a blade ripped off a wind turbine. A UFO - or something more prosaic?

A UFO is believed to have torn a 60ft blade off a wind turbine after residents noticed "strange lights" in the sky.

Some locals believe the damage to the 300ft turbine at Conisholme, in Lincolnshire, could have been caused by a UFO.

But before you think X-Files, was the apparent alien encounter actually a more prosaic question of flying ice?
