This parallel universe is called Second Life - the latest internet phenomenon.

Big corporations like Nike and Amazon are rushing to enter the game, and some players are making thousands of REAL dollars.

Our technology correspondent Benjamin Cohen - and his digital alter-ego - have been exploring this strange world.
