Sea monster's skull found in Dorset

The head of a fossilised pliosaur has been uncovered by a local collector on the jurassic coast.

They dominated the seas while dinosaurs were roaming the earth 150 million years ago.

Now the eight foot long fossilised skull of a giant pliosaur has been found on the Jurassic coast in Dorset.

The creature, up to 52 feet long from head to tail, would have been capable of swallowing a human being in one gulp.

The pliosaur was discovered by a local collector and after being analysed, will be put on public display at Dorset County Museum.
