Pre-nups drawn up for gadget lovers

A pre-nuptial agreement tailored for gadget fans is being launched by an online retailer.

It was created by solicitors firm Lloyd Platt & Co for co-habiting and married couples.

Dubbed the E-Nup, its purpose is to give some financial protection for gadget owners in the event of a break-up.

The form will be available to download and then sign from the pixmania.co.uk website.

It sets out who gets to keep named items in the event of a split.

Divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt who drew up the E-Nup said it made sense for couples to protect their belongings to save hassle in the long run.

"Together with the house and car, gadgets are the new battleground," she said.

"We handle 500 divorces each year and in my 29 years as a divorce lawyer, Christmas is the most popular time for separations."

Pixmania.co.uk said although pre-nuptial contracts were not legally binding in the UK, the E-Nup could be presented as evidence in court in the event of a break-up.
