Experimental drugs, untested on humans, are to be given to cancer patients under a Department of Health scheme - launched next month.
It's the first full scale scheme of its kind, doctors hope it will prolong life and halve the amount of time it takes to develop new medication, from 10 years to 5 years.
The scheme is funded equally by Cancer Research UK and the National Health Service.
