An online comic publisher said it is auctioning the "world's first perpetual advertisement".

Dare Comics is offering companies the chance of a full-page advert in each of its future editions.

It has launched a sale on the internet auction site eBay - and an opening bid of £10,001 has been lodged.

The listing, which ends on Sunday, says: "Dare Comics is auctioning the world's first perpetual advertisement.

"The winning bidder will receive a full page advertisement in every single one of Dare Comics' online publications in perpetuity. Thanks to the Internet, this is an advertisement that could last forever."

Dare Comics' superhero title The Hunter has an online readership of 58,000 - and the company is due to launch a sci-fi comic - Starmaker: Leviathan.

Adam Hamdy, Dare Comics founder, said: "This could be the smartest media purchase anyone ever makes."
